In other news, I've been dithering. I want and need to write fanstuffs, but brain has wandered off to different, original subjects. which is both good and bad.

Nothing else, because I have no life.

Jack And The Witch, aka Shonen Jack To Mahoutsukai. A few people claim it's supposed to be a loosely based on Beowulf, which I strongly doubt. Also the little witch girl Allegra is supposed to be a boy (Kiki) in the original Japanese, which I'd almost believe.

1. Billy Kane
My interest for Billy really started from talking to Anna who obsessed about him, and I'm stopping there before I wangst too much. ALTHOUGH HE IS A SMUG LIMEY ASSHOLE, AMIRITE.

2. Duck King
LOVE FOR THE DUCK. Because Anna was obsessed with Billy, this meant she had a crapton of Fatal Fury games, which was good. I picked up Duckie in Real Bout because I will always and forever have an affection for the goofy guys, and I got pretty good with him, I think. Thanks to a little throw away scene in the Fatal Fury movie I started shipping him with Billy. I feel no guilt. XD

3. Elite Beat Agents
I fail at rhythm games. And I fail hard. (Though I adored Space Channel 5, go figure.) So even though a lot of people were raving about this game and Ouendan, I resisted. I held out for a good long while, too. But I eventually gave in and picked the game up. AND RAGED. I put it down again and glared at it for a few weeks, then picked it up again. Then Johnny Ovaltine started playing too, and together we racked up the points. And then the inevitable happened.
FUJOSHI POWERS ACTIVATED!
It's kind of sad really. I ended up making a secret about it. Then I found the wonderful people over at agentsarego and I've lived nerdily ever after.

4. Steampunk
In the early 90's I read Kim Newman's Anno Dracula and Roger Zelazny's A Night In The Lonesome October. I don't know if either really counts as "proper" steampunk, but they introduced me to the the idea. I'm not really big on the whole dystopian setting Gibson had going on in The Difference Engine that everyone else is so gay for. I personally prefer Moore's League Of Extraordinary Gentleman. Although maybe I just like all the literary references in the stuff I do like? I don't know. XD

5. Sailor Moon
This was the manga that proved to me that not all shoujo was soppy romantic bullshit, even though there was a bit of that in there. And it had canon lesbians. WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED?
