Me: Hrrm. I'm trying to post, and I can't collect my thoughts. DX
Me: Grah.
Kama: Ah, sorry.
Me: No, I just wish I could say what's in my head.
*after about twenty minutes of fruitless typing and deleting...*
Me: Eeeh. I can't get it out.
Me: Can I tell you, since you're the only one who'll get what I'm trying to say anyway?
Kama: Splooge it.
Me: There's a major recurring theme in the Fatal Fury series:
Me: There are a lot of twisted and/or absent father figures in the storyline
Me: Freud would have had a field day.
Kama: Really.
Me: You've got Geese and his half-brother; their father was a prize. >_>
Me: Geese killed Jeff Bogard, leaving Terry and Andy fatherless, with Tung Fu Rue to guide them.
Me: And then Tung went on to take the Jin Brothers under his wing.
Me: Yamazaki and Billy have VERY similar situations with different outcomes. Yamazaki was second in command/bodygard to the yakuza boss, who treated him like a son, while Billy is bodygard to Geese, and it's clear he sees Geese as a father figure.
Me: The major difference is Yamazaki watched as his father figure was gunned down in front of him, and that's what drove him batshit crazy.
Me: (stop me at any time, btw. XD)
Kama: (S'fine. It's educational for a sloppy fan like me)
Me: As for Terry and Andy, I'm not gonna go all into the fandom conspiracy theories about either or both of them being Geese's sons.
Me: Oh! And Rock! Geese and his mother were abandoned by his father, and then he more or less does the same thing to Rock and his mother.
Me: I think Kim Kaphwan is the only non-fucked up father figure in the whole thing, and that's saying a lot.
Me: Okay, I think I'm done. ^^;
Kama: *nods*
Kama: So this is your main point, no?
Me: Well, the point is I wanted to see if anyone else had anything to add, you know. To discuss.
Me: This is one of the very rare times I wish I were still in Las Vegas, to hang out the Neo-Geo gang over dinner and nerd like that.
